EPW - Berthoud, signed to dial, mvt and cuvette, skeletonized verge fusee quarter-hour repeater, 16K gold (marked with chevron hallmark indicative of this content, case tests with slow fade on stone of 18K solution and no fade of 14K solution) OF original case, slide at 1:30 to prevent repeat activation, gilt glazed observational cuvette, white enamel perimeter dial chapter, KWKS, verge escapement, pierced and engraved two-footed balance bridge, skeletonized and engraved gilt mvt, s#10281 and s#1963 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 68.7 dwt (106.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good repeat function and tone, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent gilt tone, some oxide to steelwork; dial with some patched edge chipping tight along perimeter at 7:30, some edge flaking tight along perimeter near 3; fine hands, minute with some finish loss; case shows little wear, few mild dings, good overall engraving detail with some loss to lower portion of rear, inner rear with some gold solder evident along planchet seam; tight bow of somewhat different color; good glass crystal with some glue excess around its seat.
